Workshop -Acrylic Landscape Painting for Beginners

Location:
Workshop Dates: -
Contact Person:

The wonder product, acrylic paint, is incredibly versatile and there are so many wonderful ways to use it. It comes in so many forms: liquid, soft-bodied, hard-bodied, super-hard and open and so many gels and mediums. There are additives, iridescent mediums, glitter and gold and silver. It can do almost everything except dance the tango.

It can be used effectively to mimic watercolour and oil and can be glazed, as well as used impasto. It can be painted onto almost any surface and then it can be protected and enhanced with varnishes: matte, gloss and super gloss. It can be covered with layering gel or resins. It can be mixed with other media such as watercolours, inks, oil and soft pastels and to top it all off, can be textured with an infinite number of things.

We will discuss the uses, methods and techniques of all the various products and work with as many as we can squeeze into the weekend, individually and in mixed formats. There will be demos throughout the weekend to clarify ways of working and we will paint a number of landscapes on canvas supports. Suitable for beginner and intermediate acrylic artists.
